Required Basic NMR Training: Safety and Instrument Time Scheduling

This is a mandatory sequence of tutorials covering safety regulations in the MRRC instrument rooms, sample handling rules, and scheduling of the instrument time. Please, view the tutorials and documents and take notes to prepare for a quiz.

1. Welcome Tour

This video welcomes new users - students, postdocs, faculty, industrial researchers - to the MRRC

2. Safety and Precautions

The tutorial discusses safety aspects of NMR operation and user protocols for emergency situations.

3. Rules for Booking NMR Time

This video gives a brief overview of usage rules at MRRC.

You must read the complete MRRC booking rules here:  Instrument Time Booking

This video outlines usage of Agilent iLab (CrossLab) and Kiosk

Full instructions for using iLab and Kiosk are here: Instructions for scheduling and using instruments with iLab

4. Overview of Sample Handling

The tutorial introduces sample-handling guidelines for new users on automated Bruker 400, and manual 500 in McCourtney Science Hall.

To learn about the sample changer at Stepan 400 and Bruker 800 with a Cryoprobe, view these tutorials: Stepan 400:  SampleCase Training

5. Summary: The Required Step-by-Step Protocol for NMR Room Operation

This tutorial demonstrates a required sequence of steps NMR users must follow when using NMR instruments at MRRC. The video emphasizes mandatory safety precautions and protective equipment as well as a safe process of preparing a sample for NMR analysis.
