MNova Lite is available for all Notre Dame users as a part of Notre Dame subscription to ChemDraw Office. Please, follow the instructions below to obtain your MNova Lite.

1. Follow the link to Notre Dame MNova Lite CDE distribution
   
   
2. Enter Mestrelabs MNova Lite folder
   
   
3. Choose your installation package:
   • for Apple Macintosh computers: MestReNova-LITECDE-12.0.1-20212.dmg
   • for Windows computers: MestReNova-LITE-CDE-12.0.1-20212.msi
     
     
4. Download MNova Lite manual: MestReNova-Lite CDE_Manual.pdf
   
   
5. Download a text file containing Notre Dame license ID number: ND_MNova_license_ID.txt
   
   

NOTE: If you do not have ChemOffice (or ChemDraw) yet, we highly recommend you to obtain one because MNova is able to use molecular structures made in ChemOffice and ChemDraw for prediction of NMR spectra. To obtain ChemOffice go to Obtain ChemOffice from Perkin-Elmer.

1. Open the installation package for MNova:
   • on Mac it is MestReNova-LITECDE-12.0.1-20212.dmg
   • on Windows you should start MestReNova-LITE-CDE-12.0.1-20212.msi
     
     
2. Follow installation instructions
   
   
3. Launch MestReNova Lite CDE
   • on Macs, find it in /Applications/MestReNova-LITECDE.app and put it in your Dock
   • on Windows, there will be a desktop icon as well as a new entry in Start menu
     
     
4. Possible “hiccups”:
   • Mnova wants to write to 'cache' folder and asks for an administrative password on your computer to set appropriate permissions. It is safe to provide it.
   • On Macs, MNova will ask for access to Documents folder. You should agree.
     
     
5. As MNova starts, it shows a popup box Enter your email and license ID
   • insert your Notre Dame email address
   • insert LicenseID from ND_MNova_license_ID.txt
   • click OK
   • you should see You must restart for changes to make effect
   • close Mnova and relaunch
     
     
6. At this point, MNova Lite CDE should be fully functional and ready for use. You may use it on and off campus, online and offline for as long as you are associated with the University of Notre Dame.
   
   When you leave Notre Dame you must deactivate MNova Lite.

NOTE: Shortly after activation you will receive an email from Mestrelabs directed to the Notre Dame software licensing department (CC-ed to you) informing them that your computer activated MNova Lite with the Notre Dame campus license. No action is needed, this is only for your information.
