===== Obtain ChemOffice from Perkin-Elmer =====
This is an official way to obtain ChemOffice.


=== Step 1. Notre Dame software distribution site ===


  - Navigate to [[http://inside.nd.edu]]
  - search for **Software** 
  - click on **Software Downloads**
  - authentificate with ND credentials
  - scroll down the page and select
    * **Software for** - choose your status
    * **Operating System** - Macintosh or Windows
  - type in ''chem'' in a search field
  - you will see a link to ''ChemOffice Professional''. Click on it.
  - Scroll down the page and click on ''Go To Download Site''
This action sends you to Perkin-Elmer website (next section).

=== Step 2. Registration at Perkin-Elmer ===

  - You will land on **PerkinElmer** web page titled ''Site Subscription''
  - Scroll down to the ''Search for Institution'' field
  - Begin typing ''notre'' in the search field
  - Once you see ''University of Notre Dame'', click on it
  - In a section **Register to download the latest version of ChemDraw**, click on ''Register'' button.
    * NOTE: If you have been registered to download ChemDraw in the past, you may try to use your existing credentials: click on ''Existing User? Click here to Login''. 
      * If that works, skip to next section [[#Step 3. Perkin-Elmer software listing for download]]
      * If your login did not work it means it is too old, therefore, you need to register again.
  - Enter your information in the field where you see an asterisk * (mandatory fields)
    * enter your work address in the ''Address'' field
  - Click ''Submit''
    * You should see a popup box with ''Member registered successfully'' 
  - At this step, you will have to wait for a confirmation email from Perkin Elmer. It may take variable time, maximum - 1 day
  - Click on a link in the email and set up your password

=== Step 3. Perkin-Elmer software listing for download ===

  - Click on ''Log In'' button, enter your Perkin-Elmer credentials, and you should land on the ''List Entitlements'' page 
  - Find the line with ''ChemOffice+'' line, which has the newest ''Start Date''
  - Write down (or copy-paste to text document) the following codes:
    - ''Product Activation'' code 
    - ''Entitlement ID'' number (for example: ''ORD26692SL'')
  - Click ''Download Now''
  - Under ''Download Package'', click ''ChemOffice+ Cloud''

This action takes you to the actual downloads page.

=== Step 4. Perkin-Elmer downloads page ===
  - click ''PC Windows Installer for ChemOffice+ Cloud'' for Windows or ''Mac OSX Installer for ChemDraw Professional'' for Apple computers
  - click ''ChemOffice/ChemDraw Product Activation User Guide'' 
  - follow steps of the User Guide for activation of ChemDraw
